Every day is a glorious day for those "on The Scheme" in Mills's latest tale. Mills (The Restraint of Beasts) here depicts a self-contained world of happy and productive workers cruising the landscape in "univans," or trucks. They are delivering parts for the maintenance of the trucks they drive, going from one depot to the next, shuffling pallets back and forth.
