The title's not a typo. Narrator Skate (Sarah Kate), her drama-queen sister Emma, and their parents are the Tates. The family also includes Great Uncle Mort (known as GUM), who, when not traveling the world, lives in an apartment attached to the Tates' home in New Jersey.
