Gr 4-6 Clearly written titles with large font, good spacing, and a full-page illustration for each chapter. Armstrong provides a fine introduction to this famous speech. She explains that all people weren't treated equally with the Declaration of Independence, the role of colonial expansion in making slavery a national issue in 1861, and the fact that many Northerners supported the Civil War for the sake of saving the Union rather than the freedom of slaves.
