The Orvis Streamside Guide to Trout Foods and Their Imitations (Orvis Streamside Guides)

By Rosenbauer, Tom

Publishers Summary:
There are pocket guides to specific types of insects and complicated, detailed volumes on all aquatic insects. This book fills a void-a pocket guide to all types of common trout foods and how to imitate them. It answers these questions and more: How can I tell a stonefly from a caddisfly and does it matter? How do I know when trout are feeding on minnows? What does a midge larva look like and how do I imitate one? What's the difference between a mayfly dun and a spinner? Do trout eat water striders? Color photographs and detailed diagrams will help you identify what's hatching or living under rocks on the stream bottom.
