Beautiful widow Eve Marlowe has it all-a title, a fortune, and an insatiable appetite for the pleasures of the flesh. While cruising the Mediterranean, she encounters Ramzi, a seductive Egyptian who presents her with a gift: a magical vial of fragrance said to have belonged to Cleopatra herself. But the mysterious Ramzi is not what he appears, and when Eve shifts her attention to a handsome American aviator, she's plunged into a dangerous journey that sends her from Cairo to London and then Nazi Berlin in the spring of 1941. Verdict: This steamy faux diary combines rich historical detail with wartime adventure, exotic locations, and sizzling sex. Bacarr's fans will enjoy the drama and overheated sex scenes, but her long passages of purple prose are likely to lose all but the most ardent romance readers.-Jeanne Bogino, New Lebanon Lib., NY Copyright 2009 Media Source Inc.
