Gr 7-Up Dickinson knits together a collection of stories around the theme of Merlin. Rather than a T. H. White-washing of Mallory, Dickinson is concerned with the Celtic underpinnings of Arthurian Romance. His Merlin is a tribal priest, a bard, with a holy kind of secret knowledge.
